Past Scholarship Recipients

2024 Recipient Emma Dunn

Clemson University - Forest Resource Management

“To bring you up to date, I have officially obtained my Bachelors Degree in Forest Resource Management with a minor in Women's Leadership from Clemson University as of May 2025. During my last year at Clemson, I was very lucky to be able to attend the South Carolina Forestry Association’s Annual Meeting (where I had also received a scholarship), the Timberland Investment Conference, and the Georgia Forestry Association Conference. I managed the Clemson University Forestry social media pages and even got some of our clubs' stories in our school newsletter.

I am currently enrolled to start my Masters of Forest Resource with an emphasis in Forest Business at the University of Georgia. The University of Georgia's website shares that the University of Georgia’s Master of Forest Resources (MFR) program, offered by the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, blends advanced forestry and business courses to prepare students for careers in the forest industry. This non-thesis degree, affiliated with the Center for Forest Business and supported by the Terry College of Business, focuses on developing expertise in timberland investment and management operations. I am very sad about leaving the Carolinas, but I am very much looking forward to being introduced to further aspects of the forestry industry."

I am truly honored to be selected as the 2025 Carolina Women in Timber Scholarship recipient.”
